Zora Neale Hurston "Books and Things" Limited Edition Merch Drop
It's Zora for us every time.
We're excited to share our limited edition "Books and Things" Crewneck, perfect to throw on while cozying up next to a good book (we're currently reading Dust Tracks on a Road by Zora Neale Hurston) and our newest tote for, well, all your books and things! Perfect gifts for the Black feminist bookworm in your life or as a gift to yourself. You deserve.
The front features our logo with an excerpt from Zora Neale Hurston's autobiography, Dust Tracks on a Road on the back. The text is drawn from the chapter "Books and Things" that reads:
"If writers were too wise, perhaps no books would be written at all. It might be better to ask yourself 'Why?' afterwards than before. Anyway, the force from somewhere in Space commands you to write in the first place, gives you no choice. You take up the pen when you are told, and write what is commanded. There is no agony like bearing an untold story inside you."
We lovingly hand screen print and package each crewneck and tote at ITS-IN-SCOPE's Memoryhaus, an alternative site for site for education, optimism, and imagination that is located in Los Angeles' Historic South Central neighborhood.
Please note ordering closes Friday, December 8th. Items will be shipped after December 10th for guaranteed delivery before Christmas.
